Khirallah Trial Attorneys is a team of trial lawyers united by an approach to injury litigation grounded in tenacity, preparation, expertise, empathy, and a strong sense of justice. Few embody those qualities more fully than partner Rachel Khirallah.
In the latest installment of our “Meet the Team” series, we sat down with Rachel to learn more about her passion for advocating for injury victims, holding corporations accountable, and helping clients navigate some of the most difficult moments of their lives.
What do you do at KTA?
I represent individuals and families who have been seriously injured due to the negligence of others. My practice focuses on personal injury cases, where I advocate for clients facing some of the most difficult moments of their lives, whether that is recovering from a catastrophic injury, navigating the aftermath of an accident, or seeking accountability from those responsible.
What do you enjoy most about your job?
What I enjoy most is that every day is different. Some days are spent deep in case strategy, analyzing the facts, working through liability from every angle, anticipating defenses, and carefully refining the damages positions to ensure we are telling our client’s story as clearly and powerfully as possible. That process requires both precision and creativity, and it’s where a case is truly built. Other days, I am in court, arguing in front of some of the best judges in the state. The shift between behind-the-scenes strategy and in-the-moment courtroom advocacy is what keeps the work dynamic, challenging, and incredibly rewarding.
The firm often represents individuals facing serious injuries who may feel like they have no where to turn. What does it mean to you to help clients in those situations?
It is something I take very seriously. Whether it is an individual coming to us directly or another lawyer trusting us with a referral, these cases involve people facing some of the most difficult and uncertain moments of their lives. There is a real weight to that trust, and I do not take it lightly.
For the clients themselves, it is about stepping in when they feel overwhelmed and unsure of where to turn, and making sure they feel seen, heard, and supported from the very beginning. It is about providing steady guidance, clarity, and strong advocacy at a time when everything can feel uncertain. For the attorneys who refer cases to us, it is about honoring that trust by handling each case with the same level of care, diligence, and commitment expected for their own clients.
At its core, it is about responsibility. No matter how the case comes to us, the focus is the same, to level the playing field, hold the responsible parties accountable, and ensure that every client is treated with dignity while pursuing the justice they deserve.
Can you share a moment when you felt especially proud to make a difference in a client’s life?
For me, those moments are not tied to a single case or outcome but more from knowing that I have left no stone unturned in advocating for a client. It is the confidence that, at every stage, I have done everything possible to protect their interests and tell their story the right way.
What stays with me most is knowing that, even for a brief moment in someone’s life, I was able to help them feel seen, heard, and taken care of during one of the most difficult times they have ever faced. These are often people I did not know before, but in that moment, they are placing their full trust in me.
That is also what makes our firm different; we do not stop. We are relentless in our pursuit of justice, always pushing, always looking for the next angle, the next piece of evidence, the next way to advocate more effectively. Being able to combine that level of commitment with genuine care for our clients is what makes me most proud.
Why did you decide to become a lawyer?
I decided to become a lawyer to make sure people are heard, seen, and not disregarded, especially when they have been injured because companies chose to place profits over safety. In those moments, it is not just about having representation; it is about having an advocate who will stand up to corporations and ensure that each client’s voice is clearly heard and powerfully represented.
That perspective was shaped early on. I was raised in Irving, Texas, in a close-knit family as an identical twin and one of five siblings. My parents balanced demanding careers while raising all of us, but more importantly, they led by example. They treat everyone with respect and kindness, while also making it a point to ensure people felt seen, heard, and valued. They promoted and nurtured empathy, confidence, and patience, and instilled in us a responsibility to advocate for and fight for those who needed it most.
My father worked multiple jobs while attending law school and eventually became a partner at a national firm, and my mother built a career in education, becoming a university professor, with five children. Watching their work ethic and the way they showed up for others shaped how I approach both life and my career.
Those values led me tothe practice of law. Today, I am driven by the belief that advocacy should berelentless, intelligent, and also empathetic, the kind of advocacy that notonly holds corporations accountable, but also refuses to stop fighting until myclients are truly heard, respected, and given the justice they deserve.
How would you describe your approach or style as a lawyer?
My approach is strategic, relentless, and focused on results. I work to position cases in away that steadily narrows the options for opposing counsel and their client, building the facts, the law, and the narrative so thoroughly that the strength of our position becomes unavoidable.
I am deliberate in how I develop a case, but once that foundation is set, I advocate with intensity and persistence. I do not back down when it comes to pursuing what is fair and just for my clients. At the same time, I approach every case with thoughtfulness and precision, ensuring that every move is purposeful.
Ultimately, my style isabout combining preparation with tenacity, advancing each case from a positionof strength while maintaining the integrity and respect that the legal systemdemands, and leaving no room to overlook the justice my clients deserve.
When someone is suddenly in need of an injury lawyer, it’s often a confusing and emotional time. There are a lot of choices – and a lot of lawyers and law firms that make big promises. In your opinion, what should someone look for when they need to hire an injury law firm?
When choosing an injury law firm, it is important to look beyond promises and focus on how the firm actually approaches its cases and clients. At a minimum, there should be a combination of experience, strategy, and empathy, an advocate who takes the time to understand the client’s story and treats the case with the attention it deserves.
You should find a firm that is willing to do the work. Personal injury cases require deep involvement, working through liability from every angle, developing the damages story, and constantly refining the case to put the client in the strongest possible position. That level of preparation becomes even more critical in complex or challenging cases, where the path forward is not always clear.
At our firm, we are a team of five lawyers, which allows for a highly collaborative and focused approach. Every case is known across the team, and we work closely together to develop strategy, share insight, and ensure that no detail is overlooked. Maintaining a deliberately focused caseload allows for meaningful attention on each matter, particularly those involving difficult liability or unique circumstances.
Many of the cases handled require a higher level of analysis, resources, and strategic development. These are often matters that benefit from a more intensive, hands-on approach. Whether a case comes directly from a client or through a referral, the focus remains the same, to fully develop the case, pursue every viable path, and position it for the strongest possible outcome.
Ultimately, the right firm combines preparation, collaboration, empathy, and persistence ensuring that every client receives meaningful attention and that every case is handled with the level of care and advocacy it deserves.
