What do you do at KTA?
As managing partner, I juggle firm operations, finances, talent management, strategic planning, assist in litigation, and partner/client relationships.
What do you enjoy about your job?
I enjoy getting to work with the team we’ve assembled. It really is a family here. I adhere to the principle that we are all responsible for creating the culture we want to be a part of. This team embraces that principle and genuinely strives to bring positive energy to work everyday.
The firm often represents individuals who have suffered serious injuries and who may feel like they have no one to turn to for help. How does it feel when you and the firm can help them obtain justice?
It’s humbling. Life is full of twists and turns, and I know I could just as easily be sitting in that client’s seat someday. I would want to feel well taken care of and know that I could trust others were working hard for me. We do that here.
Can you describe a moment that you were proud to have been able to help make a difference in a client’s life?
Unfortunately, it is far too common to see a client in tears as they re-live the trauma of the event through the litigation process. But it is fulfilling to see those tears turn into tears of joy when the case is resolved in their favor.
Why did you decide to become a lawyer?
I have always enjoyed good storytelling and that’s what trial work really is. Being on my feet making arguments for my clients to tell their story was where I could have a career with impact.
What is your approach or style to being a lawyer?
Show up everyday and do honest good work. I’ll always sleep soundly.
What do you like to do when you’re not at work?
Spend time with my wife and children and sneak in a swim a couple times a week.
